Aaron: Leah Moon is our resident Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Accredited Nutritionist

Aaron: So Leah what drove you to become a dietitian?

Leah: I am a dietitian because I have a passion for health and well-being. My role is to improve your health, quality of life and your ability to manage a range chronic conditions. I am here to listen to your current challenges and work with you to find a realistic and sustainable solution using nutrition based interventions.

Aaron: What can a Dietitian like yourself do for clients of Fit Clinic?

Leah: Accredited Practicing Dietitians (APDs) are more than weight loss experts. APDs are university-qualified to work in a wide variety of health and nutrition settings.

Help you understand the media messages:
Every day we’re exposed to unaccredited nutritional claims and quick-fix schemes that are unsubstantial, unsustainable and can be dangerous to our health. APD’s are the experts in nutrition, and will provide you with tried and tested, evidence-based lifestyle changes to improve your health.

Work towards a better future:
As a population our health is declining, with the future looking like a reduction in life expectancy for the next generation. APD’s are dedicated to reducing the risk of chronic, preventable conditions such a diabetes, cancer and heart disease.

We work as a team:
As clinicians we understand the importance of other health professionals to help manage your health. I work with Accredited Exercise Physiologists for weight loss goals and management of chronic conditions to ensure that you are always safe when making any lifestyle changes.

Aaron: Thanks, Leah.
Dietitians- Better food, better health, better well-being for all.
